FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a class?

The easiest way to book is through the Power Moves app. You’ll receive all class notifications and be able to manage your bookings directly in the app.

Can I book a class for a friend?

For insurance reasons, every client must have their own account. If you’d like to pay for a friend, reach out to us and we can arrange this — but they will still need to create their own account to attend.

Why won't it let me book into a class?

First thing to check – Do you have active credits on your account? You can check this in your Power Moves App > More > My Packages.

If you are still having trouble please get in touch with your studio.

How far in advance can I book?

Our class schedule opens 10 days in advance, so you can plan ahead and secure your spot early.

How should I prepare for class?

Reformer Classes:
Grip socks are a must for safety and hygiene. If you forget yours, we have some available for purchase at the studio for $22.

Mat Classes:
Bring your own mat if you can. If not, you can hire one for $3 — just remember to bring a towel that fully covers the mat.
We also sell grip towels that fit our mats perfectly.

All Classes:
Ensure to arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your session to allow time for your trainer to take you through the studio and go over any need to know items before class starts.
Stay hydrated! Bring a water bottle and refill at our filtered water station.

What classes are beginner friendly?

Reformer: Start with our Reformer Fundamentals class. It’s designed to teach you the foundational movements, with plenty of options to progress or regress.

Mat: Try our Hot Mat Classic class — less intense than Hot Mat Sweat and a great introduction to hot mat Pilates.

Yoga: Both of our yoga classes are beginner-friendly, but if you’re brand new, Stretch and Unwind is a gentle and welcoming place to start.

Which classes are pregnancy-friendly?

First of all — congratulations! We know how important it is to keep moving during pregnancy, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
You’re welcome to join our Reformer Fundamentals and Stretch & Unwind Yoga classes, where our instructors can offer plenty of pregnancy-safe modifications to keep you comfortable.

Please note — Hot Classes and Jumpboard Classes aren’t suitable at any stage of pregnancy.

And of course, it’s always a good idea to check in with your healthcare provider before starting or continuing your workouts during pregnancy.

Can I still come to class if I’m injured?

It depends on your injury. If you’re unable to perform basic movements like squats or lunges, we suggest visiting a physiotherapist or trying clinical Pilates first to avoid further injury.

How do I know when I’m ready for a more challenging class?
  • On the Reformer, if you’re smashing all the challenge springs in Fundamentals, you’re probably ready to level up.
  • On the Mat, if you leave Hot Mat Classic feeling like you could have given it 10% more, it’s time to sweat it out in Hot Mat Sweat.

If you’re unsure, just ask your instructor — we love helping you hit new goals!

What’s the age limit?
  • You need to be 16 or older to attend Power Moves classes. Please note: Children are not permitted to wait at the studio during class.
What’s your late cancel and no-show policy?

Our classes are small and often fully booked, so late cancellations and no-shows can prevent others from attending.

  • Cancel at least 8 hours before class to avoid fees.
  • If you late-cancel (<8 hours) or no-show, you will:
    • Forfeit the class if you’re on a pack.
    • Be charged $15 for late cancellation or $20 for a no-show if you’re on an unlimited membership or intro offer.

Fees are automatically charged to your account within 24 hours.
⚠️ Cancellations are only accepted via the app — we cannot process cancellations via email, phone, or social media.

How does the waitlist work?
  • When you join a waitlist, you’re agreeing to attend if a spot opens up.
  • You’ll be automatically added to the class (up to 1 hour before it starts) and notified via text and/or email.
  • If you don’t show up after being added, this will count as a no-show (loss of class pass or applicable fee).
Can I put my membership on hold?

Yes, you can place your membership on hold for a minimum of 2 weeks. Please email your studio at least 1 week in advance with the dates you need.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Absolutely!

  • You can purchase digital vouchers directly through the app.
  • If you’d prefer a physical voucher, email us at hello@powermoves.com.au and we’ll organize one for you.
Do you have showers?

We sure do – and they are lush! Our showers are stocked with Kevin Murphy products, plus a Cloud 9 straightener and hair dryer for you to use.

Do you have lockers?

While we don’t have locked cubbies, we do have open pigeonholes to store your belongings. Rest assured, the studio is under 24/7 surveillance for your peace of mind.

What’s the deal with parking?

There’s plenty of free street parking near the studio.
If you’re on one of our top two memberships, you also have access to dedicated parking a short walk from the studio.

Kindly avoid parking in our neighbours designated spots. These are not part of our property and unauthorized vehicles may be at risk of being towed.

How hot are the hot classes?

Our hot mat classes are heated to a toasty 36 degrees — the ultimate sweaty glow up.

What are the benefits of heated classes?

So many!

  • Increased flexibility: Warm muscles = better range of motion.
  • Improved circulation: Infrared heat helps get your blood flowing.
  • Detoxification: Sweating opens your pores and helps flush out toxins.
  • Enhanced focus: The warmth encourages mindfulness, keeping you connected to your breath and movement.

Ever wondered why we start every reformer class with a pelvic tilt? 👀

It’s more than just a warm-up - it’s the moment you wake up your body, find your neutral spine, and check in with yourself before things get spicy 🌶️

It’s a tiny movement but seriously powerful when done right. And if you’ve ever been unsure whether you’re doing it properly, this one’s for you!

Got a move you’re curious about? Let us know what you want us to break down next 💌
